The religion in and around Sofia

When the constitution of Bulgaria was written, people made the major religion the traditional one, but you can believe in what do you want. This was the most modern constitution written by the time of the XIXth century. That’s why when you enter in that colorful city – Sofia, you can see temples from different religions, built in the neighborhood. 

We’ll walk in the main center of Sofia and the guide will tell you how Christianity, Judaism, Islam, and Buddhism came in the Bulgarian lands.  After the walking, we’ll go to Boyana church, one of the best examples of a medieval church, hidden in the foothills of the mountain Vitosha. The transfer from the main center of Sofia to Boyana church is 30 minutes. After the tour of the church, we’ll drive one hour more to the village of Plana to see the Buddhist stupa and to enjoy the mountains surrounded us… To take energy.
